Supporting the Hands that Help Others.

The CSHA Foundation is dedicated to the growth and well-being of the speech-language community. Today, we are proud to move that mission forward with the official launch of the CSHA Foundation Hardship Fund.

This initiative was made possible through a generous foundational investment from Ascend. Their commitment to clinical excellence goes beyond the classroom and clinic—it extends to the very people who do the work. Thanks to Ascend’s partnership, we can now provide a vital safety net for professionals facing unforeseen financial hardships.

The CSHA Foundation Hardship Assistance Program provides rapid financial relief to California’s speech-language and hearing professionals facing unexpected life crises.

Our Goal

We aim to ensure that a temporary setback doesn’t end a career of impact. This fund provides micro-grants to help California clinicians navigate emergencies, so they can return to what they do best: helping children thrive.

Dedicated to enriching the lives of children we serve through partnership, advocacy, and professional excellence.

About Ascend

Ascend proudly partners with the CSHA Foundation to advance a shared commitment to children’s communication, growth, and well-being. Through collaboration, advocacy, and investment in clinical excellence, we support California’s speech-language professionals with the resources and community they need to help every child thrive.

How the Program Works
Give the Gift of Stability

Empower Your Peers

When a colleague faces a house fire or a sudden medical crisis, their focus should be on recovery—not how they will afford the tools to treat their patients. Your tax-deductible donation goes directly to California practitioners in need.

  • $100 can replace stolen therapy materials for a school-based SLP.
  • $250 can replace minor technology or other therapeutic needs.
  • $500 (Full Grant) can help a member cover an emergency medical deductible.

Why Give?

100% of your dedicated gift to the Hardship Fund is restricted for use by members in crisis. Your generosity ensures that our professional community remains strong, resilient, and connected.
